For the next three days New York City is hosting one of the BEST music conferences in the country the “New Music Seminar.” Opening tonight at Webster Hall, the event seeks to prepare artists for entering the music business today and preparing for the changing technology, tastes, and trends of tomorrow.
Schedule highlights include:
- Fan Relationship Management– How to harvest and cultivate fans
- Your Live Tour-How to make money in multiple markets as a touring artist
- The Breaks– Swizz Beatz, Nile Rodgers, and Alex Suarez (of Cobra Starship) discuss how they broke into the industry
One of the best events you can attend as an emerging artist, writer, producer, or DJ is a music conference. Not only will you get to be face to face with some of the most influential people behind the music industry but you will also have the opportunity to find out new and emerging trends in the industry, what labels are looking for in new talent, and some of the most honest opinions about your work.
These conferences are year round (for example: SXSW, The Core DJ’s Retreat, TJ’s DJ’s Tastemaker Conference) and registration fees come at varying amounts depending on levels of access to speakers, events, and concerts. So plan ahead save your money for travel and hotels and be prepared with quality examples of your work!
Walkup Registration for the New Music Seminar is $200. Checkout the Official New Music Seminar Website for more information!
